Sports Director

Rodrick Matthews was an outstanding player in high school at Cole High School in San Antonio and attended Prairie View A&M University on an Army ROTC scholarship. He graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering. He started the XrossOver Basketball Academy in 2008 while working as an Engineer at Abbott Labs.

He introduced the XrossOver vest into the Dallas market along with his fraternity brother (Kappa Alpha Psi) and inventor of the vest Dano Edgar.

After seeing that the vest was a valuable tool in teaching beginner athletes how to dribble and how it dramatically improved the skills of experienced athletes the XrossOver Academy program was developed and he started training athletes at different gyms throughout Dallas, Plano, and McKinney.

Rodrick met Coach Keith Spencer in 2010 after placing a craigslist ad looking for trainers with experience because the program was growing so fast. Once Coach Keith saw the vest and program there was no turning back and they have been partners ever since.
